The NEA's Agenda & Part in The Pledge

The National Education Association is the force behind schools subverting our youth.

The most powerful educational group in the U.S. is the National Education Association (NEA). The NEA and associate groups are pushing to chip away at and eventually eradicate the Second Amendment (2A) at the expense of your children, their security, and our country. They use their political power and social influence to accomplish this agenda.

Statement* of Bob Chase, NEA President (excerpt):
*
NOTE: His false number of '12 children per day' multiplies to 4,380 deaths per year. Where did he get these numbers from? They are nonexistent. The NEA is supposed to be an educational group but instead their anti-2A agenda is self-evident.

"Twelve children will die today from gun fire. Another twelve tomorrow. And the day after and the day after. We cannot allow this to go on. No More Delays on Common-Sense Gun Laws.

"Congress must act immediately to:
- Require locks or other safety devices on all guns
- Ban the sale of semiautomatic assault rifles
- Stop the sale and importation of high-capacity ammunition clips
- Require mandatory background checks
- Prohibit handgun possession by those under 21
- Establish tip lines for students to alert adults about potential violence

"Today, on behalf of the entire NEA education family -- teachers, secretaries, bus drivers, teachers aides, school security personnel, cafeteria workers, and custodians we've taken the lead on video programming to help communities work to prevent violence at school. The NEA is doing its part to keep schools safe by doing what education employees do best: teaching and learning. We have collected the very best, absolutely proven safe school practices in the nation and we are training our members to use these techniques. It is called the NEA Safe Schools Now Network. Schools all over the country are receiving this program free, via satellite."

Coalition to Stop Gun Violence to Honor Robert Chase of NEA (excerpt):

"The NEA and AFT have implemented programs to reduce youth violence in schools and both groups support tough gun laws to keep young people from getting guns."

"The Association believes that strict proscriptive regulations are necessary for the manufacture, importation, distribution, sale and resale of handguns and ammunition magazines."

Teachers urge Congress to approve 'common-sense gun laws.' From the Wisconsin Education Association Council (excerpt):

"Pope, Thomas and 1,600 NEA members from all 50 states signed a full-page ad in the Washington Post, imploring Congress to take immediate action to protect children. The vast display of educator support for child protection from guns would not fit in the advertisement, and NEA has posted additional names on its website at www.nea.org."

What About the Children? The Legislative Agenda of the National Education Association and the Politics of New Unionism. National Taxpayers Union Foundation Policy Paper #122, by Jared Adams (excerpt):

"If the Department of Education has become the mechanism by which local education dollars are squandered, it is the National Education Association that has become the most prolific source of ideas for squandering them." -- U.S. Representative Joe Scarborough[1]

Deceiving America: Why We Should Question The NEA. by Tom Harzula (excerpt):

"Education, it can easily be argued, is the path towards the evolution of society. If this is indeed true, then American society may very well be in danger. Unfortunately for American children, the very future of this country, the education system of the U.S. is one of absolute abomination. At the heart of the failure of American education is the very group millions of parents and teachers trust with the future of our children--the National Education Association. Fortunately, despite NEA lobbyists, the Clinton-Gore history standards were soundly rejected by the Senate, 99-1."

Docs, Guns, and the CDC. By Miguel A. Faria, Jr., MD (excerpt):

"In his monumental work Point Blank: Guns and Violence in America, Professor Kleck found that the defensive uses of firearms by citizens amount to 2.5 million times per year and dwarf the offensive gun uses by criminals. Between 25 and 75 lives are saved by a gun for every life lost to a gun.

"The true measure of the protective benefits of guns are the lives saved, the injuries prevented, the medical costs saved, and the property protected -- not the burglar or rapist body count. Since only 0.1%-0.2% of defensive gun usage involves the death of the criminal, any study, such as this, that counts criminal deaths as the only measure of the protective benefits of guns will expectedly underestimate the benefits of firearms by a factor of 500 to 1,000."

How is the The Pledge indoctrination against human rights working? - Very well. Here are some statements made by students who took The Pledge (excerpt of interview by the Loris Scene):

Consuela Adgerson, an 11-year old sixth grader, said she was making a commitment against gun violence because, "if you shoot somebody, you go to jail and it's not good to do it."

Seventh grader Elizabeth Livingston agreed. "I think it's wrong that people use guns because that causes a lot of harm," she said.
